Trump pointed to the threat of world war because of the AFU (Ukraine Military) attack on Kursk region

An attack by Ukrainian troops on Kursk Region could trigger the start of World War III. This was stated by the US presidential candidate from the Republican Party Donald Trump on 28 August.

‘Look at what is happening in Ukraine. They are rushing into Russia. There will be a third world war,’ The Independent newspaper quotes him as saying.

According to the politician, the country's attack on the territory of a neighboring state was another sign that the possibility of a third world war is closer now than ever before.

Earlier, on 20 August, the first deputy head of the State Duma committee for international affairs, Svitlana Zhurova, said that the participation of foreign mercenaries from NATO countries in the battles near Kursk as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) further aggravates the military conflict. She noted that what is being done now is pushing the world closer and closer to the third world war.

At the same time, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma committee for CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, Viktor Vodolatskyy, said that mercenaries from Poland, France and Germany were fighting in Kursk Region. Also on 18 August, it became known about the elimination of a Finnish mercenary when the Ukrainian army invaded the region.

Trump has repeatedly stated that if he wins the US presidential election, he will put an end to the conflict in Ukraine. Thus, on 21 August, he noted that the US military depots are empty. According to him, all ammunition stocks have been distributed to Ukraine and other conflicting countries. In early August, the politician also promised that he would organise talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose powers expired on 20 May. He emphasised that he knows both presidents well.

The next, 60th US presidential election is scheduled for 5 November 2024. The candidate from the Democratic Party is Kamala Harris. The Republican Party will be represented by Donald Trump. The final stage of the election will be the November ballot.
