Machine
Drama, Sports (USA, Mexico)
Esteban Asuna, nicknamed Machine, is a professional Mexican boxer and champion in his weight class with many victories.
During a fight with a young opponent, he was knocked out in the first round in front of millions of people. Everyone started to say that he was too old and it was time to end his career, and his sponsors decided not to renew his contracts.
His loyal friend and manager Andy Luhan pulled up all the strings and managed to negotiate a rematch. Esteban got himself back in shape in no time. Nobody believed in him, but persistence and experience helped him to win.
The victory happened not without the help of an unknown person, who soon came out to Andy and began to threaten, forcing him to lose the next fight. Esteban's ex-wife, a journalist, starts an investigation and tries to find the organisers of the fake fights.
Tea cup
Thrillers, horror, sci-fi (USA)
The plot of the mystical thriller by James Wan (‘Aquaman’, ‘Fast and Furious 7’, ‘Saw: Game of Survival’) is based on Robert McCammon's 1988 novel ‘Stinger’ (or ‘Biter’). Yvonne Strahovski (‘The Handmaid's Tale’) played the title role.
Maggie Chenoweth and her husband and two children live on a cosy farm in Georgia. Recently, the animals have been behaving unusually and are clearly afraid of something. Late one night her son Arlo went off alone into the woods and didn't return for dinner.
His parents went to look for him together with neighbours who kindly offered their help as they realise that there are wild animals in the area and it is impossible to delay.
A few hours later, the frightened boy comes home covered in blood and begins to behave strangely, falling into fits and saying incomprehensible things. Soon a mysterious stranger in a gas mask drives up to the farm, draws a blue line and declares that death awaits them if they trespass. Cars won't start, phones won't catch and the heroes don't know how they're going to get out of the trap.
Sweetheart
Comedy, thriller, drama (United Kingdom)
This comedy thriller starring Ella Pournelle (‘Fallout’) is an adaptation of the book series of the same name by C.J. Skewes. In the centre of the plot is an ordinary quiet Rhiannon, who is not noticed by anyone.
She was constantly bullied at school, her mother left the family very early, and her father recently died. Her sister has travelled from France to sell and divide all his property, including the house she lives in.
The girl works as an administrative assistant in a newspaper and wants to try herself as a junior reporter, but her boss does not see potential in her, and her colleagues do not pay attention to her.
Rhiannon has almost no friends, and guys are not in the mood for serious relationships. No one could imagine that the heroine in her head makes a list of potential victims. At some point her patience comes to an end.
