How to report an error
Please use our contact page and include the article title, page URL, the passage you believe is inaccurate, and, when possible, a reliable source supporting the correction.
How we review reports
We examine the disputed statement, consult the sources used for the article, and seek additional primary or authoritative evidence when appropriate. A correction request does not automatically establish that an article is wrong, but every specific, good-faith report is reviewed.
Types of changes
- Minor edits: Spelling, grammar, formatting, or wording changes that do not alter meaning may be corrected without a separate notice.
- Substantive corrections: Factual changes that materially affect a reader’s understanding include a dated correction note explaining what changed.
- Updates: New information added after publication is identified through the article’s updated date and, when useful, an update note.
- Retractions: Content that is fundamentally unreliable, unlawfully reproduced, or unsafe to leave online may be removed or replaced with an explanatory notice.
Transparency
We do not silently change publication dates to make unchanged articles appear new. The displayed updated date reflects a meaningful editorial revision.
