Top 7 Super Bowls

Super Bowl XLII: New York Giants vs. New England Patriots

Super Bowl XLII took place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The New York Giants emerged victorious over the New England Patriots with a final score of 17-14. This game is particularly memorable due to the Giants' unexpected triumph over the previously undefeated Patriots and the incredible helmet catch made by David Tyree.

What truly sets this Super Bowl apart is the fact that it exemplifies the idea that one can succeed against all odds. Despite not securing the NFC East title, the Giants managed to narrowly escape each playoff game, which adds to the perfection of their victory. The moment when Eli Manning narrowly evaded a third-down sack at the 50-yard line to complete the now-famous Helmet Catch by David Tyree is considered one of the greatest moments in football and possibly one of the top ten moments in sports history.

Furthermore, if the Patriots received the same amount of criticism they do now when they lost, this Super Bowl would be even more appreciated than it already is.

Super Bowl LI: New England Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons

Super Bowl LI was held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, where the New England Patriots made a historic comeback to defeat the Atlanta Falcons with a score of 34-28. This game is notable for being the first Super Bowl to go into overtime and for the Patriots overcoming a 28-3 deficit, which remains the largest comeback in Super Bowl history.

The Patriots and Giants game was well-played, unlike the Falcons who seemed to give up after halftime, allowing the Patriots to secure an easy win. Instead of running the ball, the Falcons opted to throw three incomplete passes, wasting valuable time. If they had stuck to running the ball, they could have potentially won the game. Many consider this Super Bowl to be overrated in history.

Super Bowl XLIX: New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks

The New England Patriots emerged victorious in Super Bowl XLIX, which took place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. They defeated the Seattle Seahawks with a final score of 28-24. One of the most memorable moments of the game was Malcolm Butler's crucial interception at the goal line in the closing seconds, preventing a potential touchdown by the Seahawks. This game was filled with intense emotions and controversy. Personally, as a Seahawks fan, I took great pleasure in seeing Richard Sherman lose. The back-and-forth action throughout the game was also highly enjoyable. Malcolm Butler is my hero, and although I have loved other Super Bowls, this one will always hold a special place in my heart. From start to finish, it was the best game ever, featuring the most dramatic play at the end. Additionally, it showcased two teams with the potential for dynasties and possibly the best teams to ever meet in the Super Bowl. Without a doubt, this was the greatest Super Bowl game ever, even according to a Seahawks fan like myself.

Super Bowl XXXIV: St. Louis Rams vs. Tennessee Titans

The St. Louis Rams emerged victorious in Super Bowl XXXIV, which took place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. They defeated the Tennessee Titans with a final score of 23-16. The game concluded in a thrilling manner, as Rams linebacker Mike Jones made a crucial tackle on Titans receiver Kevin Dyson just one yard away from the goal line as time ran out. This iconic play is widely recognized as "The Tackle."

Super Bowl III: New York Jets vs. Baltimore Colts

The Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida hosted Super Bowl III, where the New York Jets triumphed over the Baltimore Colts with a score of 16-7. This game holds great historical importance due to Joe Namath's renowned assurance of a Jets win, which came true and marked the first Super Bowl triumph for an AFL team against an NFL opponent.

Super Bowl XLIV: Indianapolis Colts vs. New Orleans Saints

Super Bowl XLIV took place at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, with the New Orleans Saints defeating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17. The game was marked by Sean Payton's bold decision to execute an onside kick at the start of the second half, as well as Tracy Porter's interception return for a touchdown. This victory secured the Saints' first Super Bowl title.

Despite the final score appearing one-sided, the game was actually quite thrilling. The Saints were trailing at halftime, making their comeback all the more impressive. The onside kick was a pivotal moment that could have changed the outcome of the game. Sean Payton's strategic call will be remembered as a key factor in the Saints' victory.

Super Bowl XXIII: Cincinnati Bengals vs. San Francisco 49ers

Super Bowl XXIII took place at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami, Florida, where the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals with a score of 20-16. This Super Bowl is best remembered for Joe Montana's game-winning touchdown pass to John Taylor in the closing minutes and Jerry Rice's MVP performance. It's a shame that the Bengals were strong contenders at the same time as Montana. It would have been great if they had won. Some may argue that Montana's age (number 12) played a factor, but this game deserves to be ranked in the top 3 for its incredible gameplay and comeback. Many believe it surpasses the excitement of Super Bowl LI. The thrilling finish and the 49ers' victory made this game truly memorable.
