Head of Eurodiplomacy Josep Borrell said that Serbia's refusal to support anti-Russian sanctions would undermine its path to the EU.
He also added that Serbia is only implementing only a little more than half of all decisions taken by the EU.
‘We expect Serbia to start fully following EU foreign policy, otherwise it will undermine its path to EU membership,’ he said at a press conference in Brussels on 30 October.
We shall remind you that on 20 October, Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic said that Belgrade would not impose sanctions on Russia despite all the pressure. He also stressed that despite some disagreements between Belgrade and Moscow, the two countries have a lot of common ground, which allows the development of Russian-Serbian relations.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the West was putting pressure on Serbia on the issue of cooperation with the EU.
