The first trailer of the mini-series ‘Blackbirds’, starring Keira Knightley (‘Atonement’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’) and Ben Whishaw (‘Perfume’, ‘007: Spectre’), was published on the YouTube channel Netflix.
The show will be released on the streaming service on 5 December. It will tell the story of a practical and devoted wife and mother Helen Webb, who secretly works as a spy for an organisation called ‘Black Doves’.
For ten years, the heroine passed data about the secrets of her politician husband. One day her life is in danger. After Helen's lover is found murdered, her boss asks a man named Sam to take care of Webb.
The role of Helen in the film went to Knightley. In the image of Sam appeared Whishaw. The cast of the project also included Sarah Lancashire, Andrew Buchan, Adil Akhtar, Tracy Ulman, Finn Bennett, Luther Ford and other artists.
The author of the series was Joe Barton. The show was developed by Sister, a company that worked on another Netflix novelty series, Chaos. It was recently shut down a short time after the release of the first season.
‘Blackbirds‘ was executive produced by Knightley, Barton, Jane Featherstone and Chris Frye, and directed by Alex Gabassi (’The Crown‘) and Lisa Gunning (’Power"). Producer Harry Munday worked on the series.
