Exploring the Enigma: Top 5 Mysterious Houses Around the World

1) Rose Hall, Montego Bay, Jamaica

This house was built in 1770. In this house there lived a man John Palmer with his wife Annie Palmer. John married Annie but he was unaware of her past.

Annie was born at a place named Haiti but when Annie was just ten, she lost her parents due to typhoid. She was adopted by a lady, who further taught her black magic.

Lets come back to the story. When Annie married John, she killed him after a few days and registered the house on her name. After that, she married three men and also killed them all. Apart from her husbands, she also killed all the workers at her home by black magic.

A boy, whose father used to work at Annie's house, was also killed by Annie. The boy killed Annie to take revenge of his father's death. It is believed that the spirits of the workers and Annie still haunts the house. Today, the house has been turned to a museum but the staff which works there still reports paranormal activities at night like creaking sound of doors and the sounds of people, which feels like someone is begging for life. These sounds echo in the whole house at night.

2) The Whaley House, California

In 1856, a businessman Thomas Whaley and his wife Anna Whaley built a beautiful house but they were unaware there used to be a graveyard at the plot before their house. After the construction of the house, they started living there normally but that was the time when paranormal activities begun. Their younger daughter heard sounds of footstep in the house. After a few days, Anna gave birth to a baby boy but unfortunately he passed away when he was just 18 months old. 

In 1885, their daughter Violet Whaley shot herself with a gun. Slowly, the whole family died and at last Thomas Whaley and Anna Whaley also passed away. After this incident, whichever family lived there; all of them were prey of misfortune. As time passed, the house started getting recognized as 'Haunted House'. 

A famous actor Regis Philbin visited the house for an adventure as he didn't believed in spirits but when he returned, he was totally shocked and claimed that he saw Anna Whaley. He said that she suddenly came in front of him and slowly disappeared. A comedian Tom Green also visited it for a night out as an adventure. He stated that he heard sounds of children crying and also stated that he saw a dog(pet of Whaley family) which suddenly disappeared.

3) Borley Rectory, England

It is believed to be the most haunted house of England. Till now many families have lived there. All the families have reported very shocking incidents. The families reported that they have heard children's singing, visual figures and felt some supernatural powers. The most spooky incident they shared was that they saw messages on the walls which are actually not existing in the house like 'GO AWAY' and 'Leave the house'. 

Firstly, this house belonged to a priest who lived with his family. The priest's family shared that the paranormal activities started from footsteps. They also saw many nuns in the house which suddenly appeared and at the next second they disappeared. Due to these activities, they left the house. Thereafter, many families lived in the house but they all left it. Till 1937, the house became vacant and got popular as a haunted place. At that time a famous paranormal researcher, Harry Price decided to live in the house for one year and solve its 'Mystery'. He also felt many supernatural powers. 

Once, in his dream a spirit of a nun told him that the house will turn into ash and bones of the nun will be seen coming out of the ash. "This dream was meaningless, yet scary" stated Harry. Two years passed, in 1939 nothing happened with the house but in the same year a room of the house caught fire. You will be shocked to know that a skeleton of a lady was found from the ash but till now it has not  been clarified that, were the bones of the nun or not? Later, the room was reconstructed and the bones were buried in a graveyard. The paranormal activities stopped but its still believed to be haunted.

4) Monte Cristo Homestead House, Australia

 

This is the most haunted house in Australia. Paranormal activities started in this house since it was constructed. The house was built in 1885. Crawley family was the first family to live here. The family felt many suspicious activities. Once, a maid of the house was cleaning the stairs but suddenly she fell from the stairs. The maid stated that she has not fallen, she has been pulled by someone but Crawley family thought that she is just exaggerating and didn't pay attention to it. 

After her recovery, when she again started her work she fell from the same place. This time the maid was sure that she has not fallen, she has been pulled by some unknown force. This didn't stop there she again fell from the stairs but this time it was too dangerous that she passed away. When a new maid came for work she also died by falling from balcony. The maid had a child and there was no one in his family except her mother. So, Crawley family adopted the child for humanity but due to an accident he was mentally sick. He was tied with ropes and kept in a room behind the house. 

The family decided that, if the child doesn't recover he will be admitted to a mental asylum. The boy howled like a wolf every night. The neighbors thought that a monster has been kept in the house. As the boy didn't recover he was sent to the asylum but after a few days he also passed away. Here the most strange thing is that, till now the locals hear sounds of howling of wolf. Due to this reason the family sold the house to a new family in 1948. But it didn't stop there the new family also felt some unknown forces. The limit crossed when a member of the family was found dead. Its still a 'Mystery' that who killed the person. 

5) Haunted Vicarage, Borgvattnet, Sweden

There is a village in Sweden named Borgvattnet. A house in this village is known to be the most haunted house of Sweden. This house was built in 1876 and here the first ever paranormal activity reported was in 1927. The families living in the house had reported several activities but the most scariest one is that, when a family member was arranging clothes in cupboard; suddenly a cloth tore into two halves. The member got to know that this is done by a supernatural power. 

In 1930, there lived a priest in the house. Once at night, the priest saw a lady with grey clothes. The lady was slowly going away from him and suddenly disappeared. In 1940, a couple lived in the house and they also experienced many paranormal activities. They heard yelling sounds in their rooms and sometimes objects started moving in the room. Once, they reported that their cupboard moved from one corner of the room to the another and every cloth in it were found torn. Once, a guest came to the couple's house and when she was sleeping in the guest room, then at 2:30 am; she saw three figures staring at her. Then she immediately turned on the lamp, but still those figures were staring at her. She wanted to call the couple for help but her voice didn't come out of her throat. After a few seconds, those figures disappeared and her voice became normal. These type of spooky activities were reported by the families. 

In 1945, a man came to the house, to write his experiences in his diary but the chair on which he was sitting was pushed by a unknown force and he fell from it on his face but the mystery is that no one was at that home except him. Then the man ran from there the very next morning. The owner of the house turned it to a public guest room but only a few people stayed there at night. Those who dared to spend a night there were given a 'Overnight Stay Certificate'.
