Lord Combermere
Lord Combermere, who was once the governor of Barbados and had a keen interest in the Chase Vault mystery, seems to have been captured in a photograph while relaxing in a chair after his death. The photograph was taken by Sybell Corbet in the library of Combermere Abbey in 1891.
Freddy Jackson
Above is a 1919 photo of a squadron of R.A.F. pilots. In the background, a face can be seen to the right of one of the men. The face is not wearing a uniform cap, appears transparent, and is unnervingly close to the man it stands behind. The squadron later identified the face as belonging to Freddy Jackson, who had passed away just two days before the photo was taken.
Spectre/Monk of Newby Church
This photograph was taken by Reverend Lord at Newby Church in North Yorkshire, England. It is considered the number one eerie photograph not only for its seemingly authentic appearance, but also because of the ghostly figure resembling the murderer from the Scream films. Adding to the fear factor, the photo has reportedly been analyzed and it was determined that the subject would have been 9 feet tall.
Tulip Staircase Ghost
The Tulip Staircase Ghost photograph was taken by Reverend Ralph Hardy in 1966 at the Greenwich National Maritime Museum. In the image, a person can be seen struggling to ascend the stairs, gripping the railing with both hands. The positioning of the hands is peculiar, as there are two left hands visible, with the top one being unusually long. The interpretation of this anomaly remains uncertain.
The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall
The photo of the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall from 1936 is considered to be the most well-known ghost picture in history. It is believed that the ghost captured on the staircase is Lady Raynham, who was reportedly confined by her husband in the hall for a significant part of her life as an adult.
Ghost Baby
This photo appears incredibly lifelike, almost too much so to be believed. However, there is no evidence to suggest that it is a fake, which adds to its eerie nature. A mother from Australia captured this image of her daughter's burial site. What makes it intriguing is that her daughter was not an infant when she passed away. The mother herself admits that she does not recognize the ghostly figure of a baby playing on top of her daughter's grave, which has led to the belief that it may belong to another baby buried nearby.
The Watcher
The Australian ghost photo was taken at Corroboree Rock. In the picture, a woman can be seen holding binoculars and looking towards the right. It seems as though she might be observing the wildlife in the area.
The Ghostly Hand
This photo is unique as it does not depict a ghost, but rather a transparent hand resting on top of a bureau. The photograph was captured by Montague Cooper around a century ago. He professed to have no understanding of how the hand appeared in the image.
