The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported the elimination of Mustafa Ahmad Shahadi, deputy commander of the elite units of the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah movement Radwan. The Israeli army released such a statement on Wednesday, 30 October.
‘The Israel Defence Forces eliminated Mustafa Ahmad Shahadi, deputy commander of Hezbollah's Radwan forces in the Nabatiyah area,’ reads the IDF statement, which was published on the Israeli army's Telegram channel.
As noted, it was possible to eliminate Shahadi by a strike organised by IDF intelligence.
The IDF also pointed out that the deputy commander of Hezbollah's elite units had carried out numerous attacks against Israel. According to the IDF, Shahadi was in charge of the said unit's operations in Syria between 2012 and 2017.
On 27 October, IDF representatives called on residents of the southern suburbs of Beirut to urgently leave their homes in connection with the upcoming airstrikes on Hezbollah facilities. In particular, the official representative of the Israel Defence Forces Avihai Edri warned of an air raid on the Burj al-Barajna refugee camp and the suburb of al-Hadas.
