Joanne Rowling, the creator of the Harry Potter book series, has shared that she has already refused the peerage in the UK twice. The writer shared this on social networking site X.
"I've already turned down the peerage twice, once under Labour and once under the Tories. If I were offered the peerage a third time, I still wouldn't accept it, ‘ Rowling emphasised.
She made her statement after a poll conducted by YouGov , according to which about 40 per cent of Britons would support the hypothetical granting of the writer a peerage title.
The highest noble title of a peer allows its holder to enter the circle of members of the House of Lords - the upper house of the British Parliament.
