Budweiser
Budweiser, a classic American beer known for its amber and refreshing taste, is arguably the most famous brand of beer in the world. Introduced to the United States by Anheuser Busch in the mid-1800s after the founder observed popular beer brewing techniques in Europe, Budweiser has since become the best-selling beer in over 80 markets worldwide. However, due to ongoing legal disputes with Czech beer brand Budejovicky Budvar, the company is unable to use the Budweiser name in various markets in Europe, as reported by Time magazine.
Bud Light
Budweiser may be very popular, but its younger and lighter counterpart, Bud Light, actually holds a significant share of the global market and is considered to be the most popular beer in the world. This American beer was first introduced in 1982. The iconic blue-branded beer takes longer to brew compared to the original Budweiser. It contains less sugar and fewer calories than Budweiser, with an ABV of 4.2%.
Pilsner
Pilsner is a type of beer that originated in the town of Pilsner in West Bohemia. It was first brewed in 1842 and has since become one of the world's most popular and youngest beers. The creation of Pilsner came about because the people of Birsen were unhappy with the quality of their beer, so they decided to establish the Burger Brauerei (Citizen brewery), which was later renamed Pilsner Urkel.
To make the beer, they enlisted the help of Bavarian master brewer Josef Groll, who created the first Pilsner beer. Originally, the plan was to brew a Bavarian-style beer, but the use of Czech ingredients influenced the development of new styles. The original Pilsner was one of the earliest examples of lager beer, made with Moravian hops and Thirth hop lager malted barley.
Snow Beer
Snow Beer, the most popular beer globally, has limited sales to primarily one country/region, China. Bloomberg News reports that its sales have increased by 577% since 2005, making it the 11th best-selling beer worldwide. Approximately 4% of certified beers are produced through a partnership between SABMiller and China Resources. Described as "very fine" and "highly carbonated" by Currency Exchange Beer, Snow Beer's popularity stems from its affordable price, with a liter costing around $1 in China, as stated by Quartz.
Pumpkin beer
Pumpkin beer has a rich history in the United States and is one of the most popular beers in the world. Its origins can be traced back to colonial brewing, but the modern version is thought to have emerged in the 1980s, with the first commercial pumpkin beer coming from Hayward Buffalo Brewery in California.
The traditional recipe for pumpkin beer involves fermenting fresh or canned pumpkin along with malted grains. However, some brewers opt to use pumpkin spices like cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg instead of actual pumpkin in their brews.
