Her name is Josie, and she’s 62 centimeters tall. Otherwise, she’s a typical 30-year-old woman. Although, of course, she has no sugar. People treat her like a doll.
«I hate it when they pat me on the head like a little girl and try to hold me. I’m not a child», says Joti. Joti Amgi was born in 1993 in India.
She has a rare disease called achondroplasia, which is a genetic disorder that prevents skeletal bones from developing properly. As a consequence, human growth slows down or stops completely. With Joti it happened at five years.
Someone manages to grow up to 113 centimeters, as the actor Peter Dinklegh (Tyrion Lannister in «Game of Thrones»). And someone like Joti is not so lucky - they remain very small.
But Joti is not upset. «Well, yes, I am. And what now, I’m going to cry my whole life?» - says Joti in one of the interviews. «I am small in height, but not of heart. I’m sorry that people don’t appreciate it», she continues.
In 2012, Joti was entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest man in the world. In 2014 she appeared in the series «American Horror Story», appearing in 13 episodes in different roles.
How does Joti Amgi live? This is a big problem. "I can’t do much on my own," says Joti. - «I can’t open the door, I can’t open the tap, I can’t reach the shelves or even the elevator button, I can’t lift heavy objects. Everything that is small for others needs help for me».
Joti never goes out alone. Dogs, cats, crows immediately pay attention to her and begin to show interest. «I must confess, although I do not like it, but most of the day I spend on someone’s hands. It can be my father, mother or sisters».
In her 30 years, Joti has never kissed a man as a woman. «If I like someone, I can only be a friend to that man, because I’m so small, we have different lives», she sighs.
Unfortunately, motherhood is also unavailable to her - due to her disease the reproductive organs have not developed. But Joti is not sad. She has an education in fashion, and she dreams of launching her own children’s clothing line under the brand Little Jyoti.
«I like to design outfits. I love Western style, love wearing short tops, dresses and designer clothes», - shares Joti his preferences.
One day, Joti met the tallest man in the world - Sultan Kössen of Turkey. «We were both shocked by our size,» she laughs. I remember the first few seconds when I raised my head and looked up. And there was a similar surprise on his face when he bent down to look at me. He must have thought he was being played,' recalls Joti.
Despite all the difficulties, Joti maintains a positive attitude towards life. She has about two million followers in Germany, and she makes money from advertising. «I am a strong, independent and self-confident girl, and my smile is proof of that», she confidently states.
But somehow it seems to me that at night, when no one sees, Joti quietly cries into the pillow...
